After hearing of the death of Gabrielle Potedia seemed to be under a cloud of despair. Lila just couldn’t believe that she’d never see her sister again. Hecuba and Herodutus took it very hard but they were grateful to have Lila and that she didn’t suffer from the same wanderlust as her sister did even though they were quite proud of Gabrielle. Slowly things went back to normal although Lila found herself thinking of her sister often especially when she needed advice.
One day a man ran into Lila while she was doing some shopping. She dropped the basket and some apples went rolling. Immediately he started picking up the food and started apologizing profusely. Their eyes met and everything else just seemed to melt away. At that moment Lila just knew that this was him the man she was meant to spend the rest of her life with. A story that Gabrielle had told her about soulmates came mind.
“What a true beauty you are. What is your name?” he said as he handed her back her stuff.
Blushing Lila looking into his sparkling blue eyes with a slight blush rising in her cheeks said, “Lila. Hi it’s nice to meet you.”
“Forgive me my fair Lila I’m Lector.”
She found herself lost in his eyes unable to say a word. She was surprised that she was able to say her name.
“Do you believe in love at first sight? I believe I’ve been struck by Cupid’s arrow for I am smitten.”
Lila just giggled and her blush deepened. She heard someone calling her name. “I believe that woman is calling you.”
“Oh it’s my mother I have food which you so kindly helped me retrieved.”
“Well it was the least I could do since I’m the one that sent everything flying. I hope I didn’t ruin anything.”
“No it’s fine. I was thinking about making a tossed salad.”
“Lila who’s your friend?”
“Mother this is Lector. This is my mother Hecuba.”
“Nice to meet you. I can see where your daughter got her beauty.”
“What a lovely young man. Would you care to join us for supper?”
“Why thank you this is such a lovely town. If you wouldn’t mind could I borrow your daughter for an hour or so since I’m new here and I’m looking for some work?”
“Sure Lector oh I believe I have that problem solved for you young man. My husband is looking for some help and you would be welcome to stay in the barn.”
“That would be great. Thank you so much Hecuba.”
“Now off you two go I’ll take care of supper tonight.”
“Are you sure mother?”
“Yes dear it’ll be fine just enjoy yourself with this nice young man. See you at supper Lector.”
Lila and Lector were inseperable. One day Lector took Lila out for a picni and asked her to marry him. Soon they were married and plans were made to build a house for the couple. In the meantime they were staying with Lila’s parents. The house was nearly done when Lila told Lector that she was with child. They had a daughte which they named Sarah.
When Sarah was six she was out picking some flowers when raiders came and scooped her up. Lila was devestated by her loss. The men got as much dinars as possible together to see if they could buy Sarah back. She had been sold to Gurkhan along with an older girl from a nearby village.
Lector along with Lila’s parents went to Margador while Lila stayed behind because she was feeling poorly. A neighbor stayed with her while the others were gone. Months passed with no word but one day the worst news came to Lila. The message said that her parents and her husband were all beheaded but there was no word of Sarah. Lila stayed at her parent’s place and it became quite run down.
Lila just couldn’t bear to go back to the house she shared with Lector and Sarah. Lila hoped that her daughter was still out there but she wasn’t sure if it wouldn’t be better if she was dead since the thought of her sweet little girl as a slave just broke her heart. Sarah was placed in Gurkhan’s harem. She was well taken care of and became one of his wives. Sarah was a survivir so she did whatever she had to get by since she saw what happened to you if you didn’t do what you were told. She eventually become his number one wife and was a brutal and viscious bitch.
Twenty-five years had passed when she came face to face with her Aunt Gabrielle and Xena who she’d remembered hearing stories about when she was little. They rescued her along with the other girls and she was finally reunited with her mother and was finally able to have a life where she was free. Eventually she met and married a man had some kids, grandkids and lived to a ripe old age.
